Download: 10 Ways to Promote Your Book... ![]() By: Francine Silverman One of the best things I’ve ever done to promote my books was to join the local Chamber of Commerce,” says Marilyn Morris, author of Sabbath’s Room (Publish America 2001), a supernatural mystery, and Once A Brat (Publish America 2002), an autobiography of the “military brat” from 1938 to 1958. “I live in a large metropolitan area, however, and the cost of joining ‘The’ Chamber of Commerce was outlandish (several hundred dollars!) so I wandered into the CofC offices in an adjacent community, hesitantly admitted I didn’t ‘technically’ live in their city, but they welcomed me with an individual membership at $15 a year. From that, I networked at the monthly luncheons and was rapidly becoming ‘famous’ as a writer, and while I received no money for my presentations for both books (such as “How I Became a Writer” for civic organizations) I did sell some books. Easier than arranging a booksigning." www.thewriterslife.net/marilyncelestemorris.html Francine Silverman Author of "Book Marketing from A-Z" (Infinity Publishing 2005) Editor/Publisher of Book Promotion Newsletter, a bi-weekly ezine for authors of all genres. Go to Fran's BOOK PROMOTION NEWSLETTER site ![]() (How a human interest turns into a book.) I have just written my very first book on a historical building, that stands in my home town of Jackson, Ohio. It is an ice cream store that started out in the early 1900's as a confectionery, then became a famous ice cream parlor noted best for its fresh roasted peanuts and "bubbles", which is a famous ice cream sundae, invented by the owner, Joseph Michael, in 1944. They made their own ice cream until 1966, when they went to a distributor Meadow Gold Ice Cream. The original ice cream maker is still in the building on display to see. And the original peanut roaster is still being used today and it is 95 years old. It is well known throughout southeastern Ohio and surrounding counties and states. I received high ratings in my small town for the book and its contents and I am very proud of that response. The title of the story is "From Humble Beginnings...to an American Icon" I have also written a few murder mystery stories, children's books and a couple of love stories which can be found at Lulu.com Check out my website at www.worksbylouella.com and enjoy the readings as much as I did writing them. Until next time. ![]() Child Care...A Right To Choose
